Internet Banking Users of BRI Jumped 218%

BRI Corporate Secretary Budi Satria said the increase in fee-based income mainly donated from e-banking services along with BRI e-channel. Overall fee-based income, BRI increased 20.09% year on year (yoy). The highest growth of e-banking transactions 45.4% by yoy.

“The increasing performance of e-banking BRI can be seen from the increase in the number of users, number of transactions and the volume of transaction at ATM, SMS Banking and BRI Internet Banking,” Budi said in a written statement in Jakarta, Friday (05/23/2014).

He explained from the user side, BRI ATM card holders increased by 15.1% yoy from 17.8 million to 20.5 million in the first quarter of 2014.

“While the number of users of BRI SMS Banking in the first quarter of 2013 totaled 3.69 million, increased 81.8% to 6.72 million in the first quarter of 2014. And for the number of BRI Internet Banking users rise 218.7% yoy, from 430 thousand to 1.38 million, “he continued.

Not only the user, transactions through BRI e-banking are also increasingly pavored customers. This is evident from the number of transactions, at BRI ATM increased by 38.3% from 241.7 million in the first quarter of 2013 and became 334.2 million in the first quarter of 2014.

While the BRI SMS Banking number of transactions in the first quarter and as many as 15.8 million in 2013, increased upto 76.1% into 27.9 million in the first quarter of 2014. And for a number of BRI Internet Banking transactions rise 154% yoy, from 4.1 million to 10.5 million.

Meanwhile, the volume of BRI ATM transactions recorded rise by 38.2%, from Rp 157 trillion in the first quarter of 2013 to Rp 216.9 trillion in the first quarter of 2014. While the volume of transactions BRI SMS Banking in the first quarter of 2013 and recorded Rp 3.5 trillion, increased by 146.5% to Rp 8.7 trillion in the first quarter of 2014.

“For BRI Internet Banking transaction volume increased by 193.9% yoy, from Rp 3.9 trillion to Rp 11.4 trillion,” he said.

According to Budi, the current BRI customers are already getting accustomed to transact using BRI e-Banking rather than coming directly into a conventional outlet or teller.

If in 2009 the number of teller transactions totaled 302.8 million or two times greater than the use of BRI e-banking transactions 161.8 million, at the end of 2013 the number of BRI e-banking transactions was much increased even surpass teller transactions, almost tripled.

“Even in the first quarter of 2014, BRI e-banking transactions recorded 3.2 times greater than the transaction at the teller, or recorded 409.8 million versus 128.8 million transactions,” he said. (Dny / Ahm)
